Art exhibition and performance by Adrian Arias, curator.

Hands of the World is a portrait of visual expressions of more than 100 hands from people all over the world in times of pandemic. Due to covid-19 restrictions this event was cancelled back in December. We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you can join us this time at Manos del mundo unveiling new date!

Hands of the World

International community visual arts project, created by Adrian Arias.

On July 23, 2020, Adrian made a call on social networks, for people from all over the world who would like to send a drawing of their hand, expressing feelings about what we are experiencing.

After 5 weeks, Adrian had received more than 100 drawn hands, which people from different parts of the world had sent him by email.

Hands received from Spain, Peru, France, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Thailand, Japan, different states of the USA, and more countries, are the symbol of union, strength, affection, loneliness, protest, help, sadness, solidarity and love of people who are going through the same pandemic situation and eventual confinement in their homes.

On Friday, December 4 at 6pm, we will display these hands from around the world in the windows of the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts in San Francisco, in a collective and community effort, which shows that in times of silence, pain and
despair, do Art can help us process what is happening to us and can also help others to connect, hand in hand, virtually for now, in this global embrace.
